Featuring special guests: Roy Bayfield - who will launch and read from his new pamphlet of psychogeographical poems, ‘Ejector Seat: Stationary Poetry’. Frank Malloy - reading from Soul City Wanderer. Frank uses history, music and poetry to help readers rediscover the capital, its streets, its structures, and its soul. Anthony Morris - Antony Morris’s film ‘A Very Special Hill’ presents his poem about Castle Hill, Huddersfield through images and spoken word (23 mins.) “A poem that journeys to the summit of the marvellous landmark known as Castle Hill, Huddersfield”. Also featuring poems from two of 4WCoP’s own resident poets, Sonia Overall and Fiona Weir. 8:30PM - ‘DRIFT ALONG’ - OTHER EVENTS IN THE PUB The Psychogeography of the Bottle Top - Phil Wood Discarded bottle tops are often a backdrop to our walks but this session brings them centre stage. Phil Wood shares a few he has collected along the way and peels back the layers of meaning we often overlook. And during lockdown these tops offered a portal for imagined travel and discovery. Participants are invited to bring along and talk about a bottle top that has powerful meaning for them, and share photos on our Facebook Group. Psychogeography is Dead: a Radio Show - Tim Waters A musical exploration of Vaporwave, place and psychogeography. Live streamed on the Twitch platform, this session will feature a range of vaporwave music, videos and spoken word. Relax, listen to the music and chat with other Congressioneers. |
